Local Is The New Black

Local Is The New Black

Hello dwell Tribe!

It's been a great start to the new year, with new beginnings and fresh starts for everyone! We've started carrying a few new lines this season at dwell, all local and all unique in their own way. From locally crafted soy candles, to gorgeous delicate pieces of  handmade jewelry, we have a got a wide selection of local goods. It's always been incredibly important to the dwell team to carry these products and make them more accessible for the general public to get their hands on. Keeping in the know with our community, and understanding what our target market wants, we have been able to introduce some brand new local companies to our community, and we continue to do so.

We can't stress enough how important it is to shop local, and how much it benefits all of us as a community. Keeping things local helps take out the middle man, giving our customers better quality products at affordable prices. We aren't into the whole 'mass production' thing and try to focus on unique one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to our trend setting customers. Having an independent, local business that employs other local businesses or distributors means there is more potential for local growth as we are keeping it all in the same district or area. Setting up a larger chain store, may provide employment for many but it also displaces many other jobs, creating a loss for local businesses all around. Local owners, typically having invested much of their life savings in their businesses, have a natural interest in the community’s long-term future.

One of the many reasons that we are going to be hosting pop-up shops this year at dwell is because we want the community to be able to access amazing products that were created by amazing people. By supporting the makers and creators, we are able to provide genuine top customer service as we believe in what we are 'selling'. You're not just another customer when you come to dwell, you are a part of something bigger, and we are proud to try and facilitate that. If you are interested in having your products sold at dwell, or are interested in our upcoming Pop-Up Shop opportunities, feel free to send us a message!

What a great contribution this store does as a local business to the Ingersoll community. Just driving through Ingersoll’s downtown; the exterior of Dwell stands out, puts character into our small town and most importantly pulls you into what this business has to offer. I’ve followed DUB on Instagram since the beginning and have begun to watch the loft and other journeys Dwell has created and built for themselves. Very proud of this business and that it is proving to show what a small town can do. Not to mention; best of all, the clothing and accessories in the boutique are beautiful and unique! dWell done!
